Lewisham College hosted the first of its Virtual Open Days helping young people and adults to find out how they can become a student and explore their career options during lockdown.
This popular event, saw attendees from all over London meet teaching staff and student support teams and take part in a virtual Q&A session about a range of industries including, Early Years, Health & Social Care, ESOL, English & Maths, Catering & Hospitality, Sports, Construction & Engineering, Creative Arts, Hair & Beauty, IT & Digital, Supported Learning and Business & Finance.
Attendees also heard from specialist advisors in Apprenticeships and Employability to find out more about new courses for job seekers and those who have been furloughed, including online/distance learning courses.
Asfa Sohail, Principal at Lewisham College, said: “Although our buildings have been temporarily closed, all Lewisham College staff have been working hard to ensure that we can continue to host our popular events and provide an exceptional experience to our students, staff and visitors remotely.

The next Virtual Open Days will take place on Tuesday 16 June and Wednesday 8 July. To attend please visit lewisham.ac.uk/virtualopendays and register for the sessions you are interested in. Once registration is complete, you will receive a confirmation email. You will also receive a web link and details of the sessions closer to the event.
The events are free and open to anyone who would like further careers advice or who is studying at Lewisham College, as well as their parents or carers.
